Featured Entertainment & TasteMakers

Shanneyganock is one of Newfoundland’s most identifiable bands. They’ve been a fixture in the local and traditional scene for almost a decade.

Shanneyganock was never really like any other band on the Atlantic scene. They are big, burly men who know the meaning of hard work and the power of music to transcend all trouble. Shanneyganock doesn’t sound like anyone else, either. Born of a love of classic Newfoundland folk acts like Figgy Duff and Ryan’s Fancy, their music embodies the power and pathos found in the best of the Island’s traditions.

Chef Ange is a small-town Labrador Girl who has taken her love for Labrador cooking and Basque history & transformed it into a modern culinary experience. With thousands of hours punched in the kitchen and countless opportunities to train under many chefs, Ange has found her niche! Chef Ange is known to all as a hardworking, driven individual who is humble and kind while sharing her love for food with others.

After studying at Memorial University and gaining a degree in Business, Ange dabbled in many different fields but always found her love for the hospitality industry to take precedence. Moving back to her roots in Labrador and starting on a new journey of a hotel and restaurant venture, Chef Ange has dedicated her life to creating experiences for guests one plate at a time.

LadyLike, an exciting new Country Music Band, is made up of a talented team of creative musicians and killer vocalists. Founding members Karla Pilgrim and Terri Lynn Eddy, formerly of The Secrets joined forces with Carole Besvater in January of 2021.

Together they have a storied history of live performances, musical arrangements, and professional recording sessions. Karla Pilgrim’s heartfelt delivery is as authentic as it gets. “Powerful, emotional, and incredibly gifted” are words that have been used to describe the vocal capabilities of Terri Lynn Eddy.

Having performed together for over 20 years, Pilgrim and Eddy have travelled thousands of miles; from cross-country tours, showcasing in the U.S. to playing with The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. Adding to their new sound is NSO’s Carole Bestvater. Carole is a sought-after music educator, freestyle fiddler, session player and founder of Strong Harbour Strings Program. Based in St. John’s, NL, LadyLike pride themselves on their technical abilities and musical versatility, and are breaking boundaries with their new sound.
