Barrels, Brews, Spirits and Ciders

The unique geology, soil and climate of this section of the Niagara Escarpment touches all aspects of agriculture here. They impart such one-of-a-kind qualities in the grapes that the wine industry has designated it a unique region appellation within the Niagara Peninsula. Pioneering wineries, like Cave Spring Vineyard, have been capturing the hearts of wine lovers for three decades. Over the course of those 30 years, an additional 50 wineries have chosen to call this region home. For insider tips on how to spend a relaxed day exploring Lincoln’s wineries, read this article.

In addition to having a reputation for being home to an incredible collection of wineries, the area is also gaining a passionate following of beer and spirit aficionados thanks to newer additions, including Bench Brewing Company and Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers. The area’s acres of apple orchards create some truly outstanding ciders as well. Stop by Fielding Craft Cider, Vieni, Tawse, Lincoln County Cider and Rood Apples to taste the signature stamp that the Niagara Escarpment lends to the spirited ciders made here.
